Fountain pens have become a novelty item. There are so many to choose from. They require special care in order for them to last a life time.

There are so many different fountain pens to choose from.  The above are some of my favorites.

Lamy has been with me for a little over 20 years.  It is a work horse.  I have certainly abused it over the years, but it still writes like a dream.  Don’t get me wrong, I do take care of it, but when I first purchased it, I had no idea how to take care of it.  Now I clean it regularly and write with it daily.

Then I have my Namiki fountain pen.  I also use it daily.  When I am not using it, I empty all the ink out, clean it and store it away.

I do the same with my Waterman.  The Waterman, I feel requires a lot more maintenance.

Then there is my Mont Blanc.  It writes like a dream, smooth like butter, the nib just glides on the paper.

Stay tuned I will write more about how to care for them and clean them.

A quick note. I have noticed that the ink used in the pens is very important. If you can, spend the extra money and buy quality ink. It will prevent clogging in the pen. Mont Blanc has a wide variety of inks and so far, their ink has been the best.
