About Rare Written Treasures

Rare Written Treasures is my passion.  I first thought of it in my 20s.  It has now evolved from finding rare books to showcasing/writing about various writing implements and all things vintage.  Fountain pens, quills and other ancient writing methods. Time pieces, manual watches that do not need batteries.

The art of letter writing.  It is a forgotten unappreciated art.  As technology advances, simple handwritten notes and letters have been put to the side, to be forgotten completely.  A letter is so much more personal than an impersonal quick typed up text or email.  A post on Facebook or Instagram does not compare to a handwritten letter.

Let us not forget cursive writing.  A writing method that is no longer taught in schools.  The younger generation may not understand the pleasures of a fountain pen or any other pen gliding along the surface of various types of paper.  (I do not wish to offend any one with such a general statement). I feel writing with a pen and paper forces you to slow down, think and take your time to put your thoughts down.  My creativity flows.  Perhaps it is because that is how I was raised?  I find joy in writing with a pen and paper.

I hope to fill this website with everything pens, paper, writing, journaling and every thing vintage. I think this website is evolving into something more than what I dreamed it would be. It is expanding to all things vintage. I hope you will join me in my journey. I would like to showcase typewriters. Handmade paper, various inks. I also have the desire to mention some books/works of art that helped shape my life and continue to inspire me.
